Dusty and Amy Allison, Asheville, NC State Advocates

Statement of Purpose

We live in Asheville, NC surrounded by the ancient beauty of the Southern Appalachian mountains and we look forward to connecting and invigorating the Tar Heel State with the positive work and mission of the Leave No Trace Center for Outdoor Ethics. After three amazing years on the road as the Subaru/Leave No Trace Traveling Trainers, we have settled back into our home state and currently work as the Programs Director (Dusty) and Marketing and Public Relations coordinator (Amy) for Landmark Learning, a multi-certification training center for outdoor educators. Through Landmark, we also both instruct Master Educator courses across the Southeastern U.S.

Our hope is to serve as a resource and a network hub for all things “Leave No Trace” in North Carolina. From the Smokies to the Outer Banks, as state advocates we aspire to share ideas, resources, and support to all veteran and newbie educators. We look forward to hearing from all interested parties and to increase the collaborative strength of individuals, educational institutions, land managers, retail stores, non profits, media outlets and more who are working passionately to minimize our impact on public lands while simultaneously enhancing the enjoyment of all outdoor recreation ventures.
